Lightning protection grounding scheme

Time:2022-08-13

1、 Production of standard grounding grid

The editor in charge of graphite grounding reminds everyone to excavate a soil trench with a width of 0.8m and a depth of 0.6-0.8m, centered on a 6m * 3m rectangular frame line, at a distance of 1.5-3.0m from the building. The two long sides should be connected in the middle, and a 2.5m long L5 (5 * 50 * 50) galvanized angle steel should be used. At each intersection point at the bottom of the trench, a total of 6 vertical grounding electrodes should be driven in; Then use No. 4 (4 * 40) galvanized flat steel to weld and connect the six angle steels as horizontal grounding electrodes; Weld the No. 4 galvanized flat steel to the middle part of the grounding grid frame, and lead it out to the outer wall corner of the computer room, with a height of 0.3m above the ground, as the PE grounding terminal; Finally, lead a protective earth wire of 16 square millimeters or more from the grounding terminal, pass through the wall along the wall and enter the room, and connect to the equipotential grounding busbar in the computer room.

2、 Using building steel bars as a grounding network

The editor in charge of graphite grounding reminds everyone that when building or renovating computer rooms, the steel bars inside the underground concrete columns can be used as grounding devices. Select at least 4 main bars (diagonal or symmetrical steel bars) inside the column, connect them by oxygen welding, and then weld them to two M12 or above copper threaded pipes protruding from the cylindrical surface as grounding terminals. Lead them to the machine room and connect them to the equipotential grounding busbar. The equipotential grounding busbar can be placed under the anti-static grounding plate.

3、 Setting up a simple grounding body

In many cases, making a simple grounding body can also achieve effective lightning protection. Use a 20mm diameter iron rod, steel pipe, or L5 angle steel, with a length of at least 1.5m, to drive it all into the soil. In situations where the backfill soil and concrete layer on the surface are relatively thick, they should be added deep into the surface.

4、 Reduce grounding resistance

The editor of graphite grounding reminds everyone that after the completion of the grounding grid production, the resistance value between the grounding terminal of the lightning arrester and the grounding body terminal should be measured. In general, the resistance of the grounding resistor should be less than 4 Ω, and in areas with high "soil resistivity", it can be relaxed to<10 Ω. If it does not meet the requirements, the first step is to check whether the grounding points are in good contact, and then check whether the grounding wire is thick enough and the length is as short as possible. Methods such as extending into the ground body, adding resistance reducing agents, or using graphite metal grounding rods can be adopted to meet the "ground resistance" requirements before it can be used as a lightning protection grounding terminal.
